The Fund Office is open to members during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each weekday, excluding holidays.

IF you are registered in the Member Portal and should you or your spouse have a preventative service, such as, a Routine Physical, a Routine Dental Exam, a Routine Colonoscopy or Mammography and/or a Vaccination of any variety, you will be eligible for our raffle to WIN a Wellness gift! Highlights

When you use the University of Connecticut Speech and Hearing Clinic, the Clinic will automatically submit your claim directly to the Fund Office. There are no claim forms for you to complete.

When you use an Aetna in-network audiologist, after the plan pays the initial $2,000, you will have to submit information to the Health Fund to be reimbursed at 80% for any charges in excess of the initial $2,000. Please see below for more information.

Hearing Evaluation

  • The plan pays 100% for one exam every three years, or more frequently if recommended by a University of Connecticut audiologist or an Aetna audiologist.
  • The evaluation includes a medical examination and custom earmolds.

  • The plan pays 100% of the first $2,000 for each appliance and 80% of the excess charges.

Connecticut Laborers’ Health Fund/Aetna In-Network Audiologists

  • The plan pays 100% of the first $2,000 for each hearing aid.
  • All charges in excess of the $2,000 per hearing aid have to be paid by you directly to the Aetna audiologist.
  • You must submit to the Fund Office an itemized statement from the Aetna audiologist that includes a description of the hearing aid, the cost, and the amount you paid to the audiologist. The Health Fund will reimburse you at 80% up to a maximum out-of-pocket (OOP) amount of $250 per hearing aid.

Medicare Retirees

UConn

  • The plan pays 100% of the first $2,000 for each appliance and 80% of the excess charges.

Connecticut Laborers’ Health Fund/Aetna In-Network Audiologists

  • All charges have to be paid by you directly to the Aetna audiologist.
  • You must submit to the Fund Office an itemized statement from the Aetna audiologist that includes a description of the hearing aid, the cost, and the amount you paid to the audiologist. The Health Fund will reimburse you at 80% up to a maximum out-of-pocket (OOP) amount of $250 per hearing aid.
