Telemedicine through Teladoc
Teladoc services give you 24/7 access to video (or phone) consultations with board-certified doctors and licensed mental health providers, including psychologists and psychiatrists, for non-emergency medical needs. Doctor “visits” can be for conditions like headaches, cold and flu symptoms, and rashes, as well as for COVID-19 symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath).
Teladoc services ( and virtual visits by video or phone with your Aetna in-network doctor ) are also the best way to receive care if you have mild COVID-19 symptoms or you think you may have been exposed to the virus. They’re also the best way to receive care so you won’t be exposed at the doctor’s or therapist’s office to people who may be sick. And, you can protect others if you’re not feeling well. Teladoc’s doctors can often call in prescriptions to a retail pharmacy near your home, too.
While Teladoc (and virtual visits by video or phone with your Aetna in-network doctor) is cheaper and faster than going to urgent care or the emergency room, it’s not a replacement for emergency care if you need it. If you you’re having a health emergency and need immediate help, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Sign up for Teladoc today, even if you feel perfectly fine. It’s free and easy. You may not need it now, but if you need it later, you’ll be ready to use it right away. Visit Teladoc or download the app for iOS or for Android. Have your Aetna Member ID ready.
